Genocide in Gaza: Palestinians Spiritedly Resist Occupation of their Land by Apartheid Israel by all Means Necessary

Since 7 October, the apartheid Israel regime has murdered over 20,000, displaced close to 2 million, and injured over 50,000 Palestinians. At least 8,000 of those murdered were children.

Monday 25 December 2023: On Saturday 23 December 2023, the Communist Party of Swaziland (CPS) Summer School received a comprehensive lecture on the occupation of Palestine including the ongoing genocide spearheaded by the Israeli apartheid settler state.

The lecture was delivered by Foreign Affairs member of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Comrade Fouad Baker, through a virtual platform.

Since 7 October 2023, the apartheid Israel regime has murdered over 20,000, displaced close to 2 million, and injured over 50,000 Palestinians. 8,000 of those murdered were children.

In the West Bank, the regime has massacred over 300 Palestinians and arbitrarily arrested 4,500 since 7 October.

Comrade Fouad Baker first traced the historical, economic and political roots of the occupation, detailing its British colonial and imperialist roots, leading to the situation today where the United States has become apartheid Israel’s primary sponsor.

Zionist propaganda justified the creation of Israel with the spurious claim that Palestinian land was a “land without people, for a people without land”. This was concocted to justify the occupation and ethnic cleansing of the indigenous Palestinian population.

Baker further exposed the relationship between imperialism and apartheid. Britain began showing interest in the Middle East as early as the 16th century for easier facilitation of its trade with India. By the beginning of the 19th century, British companies and India began cooperating on navigation and trade from Basra to the Suez interior. It later included Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Jordan.

The situation in Palestine is worsening on a daily basis. Palestine has been under occupation by apartheid Israel for 75 years.

“The Palestinian people know that the attacks are due to the Zionist movement that wants to occupy the entire Palestinian land,” stated Comrade Fouad.

He also stated that Palestinians long resolved that “this Zionist ideology of occupation and colonialism must be resisted by all means necessary. As such, Palestinians refuse to give in and leave their homes, because they will be destroyed by the settler regime while away.”

Baker further revealed that Palestinians also face bizarre commands from the apartheid regime, among which include instructions to demolish their own homes.

“When they refuse, Israeli bulldozers move in to destroy the homes and the homeowners will be forced to pay for the taxes and fees for the demolition”, Baker added.

Palestinians are further subjected to arbitrary arrests, house demolitions, incursions into their cities and villages destroying schools, health facilities and even controlling natural resources.

The CPS expressed its solidarity with the people of Palestine against the genocide and against the settler colonial state of Israel, for their right to self-determination.

The liberation struggle of the Palestinian people has direct links with that of the people of Swaziland. It is well known that the regime is funded by the same imperialists that are funding the Zionist regime.

On behalf of the Party, CPS General Secretary, Comrade Thokozane Kenneth Kunene, expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and conveyed heartfelt condolences to all the families of those murdered by the Israeli genocidal machinery.

“The Palestinian struggle offers similarities with our own struggle in Swaziland. There is a composition of similar forces hellbent to destroy both countries,” stated the General Secretary.

He continued, “The attitude of the Zionists is to commit a genocide and displace Palestinians from their land. The Zionists spread propaganda to cover up their cruel acts.”

“We are sympathetic to the wounded, killed and displaced, but this is not the end, victory is certain. Zionism must end, and their backers must be isolated by the world. We are tired of this cruelty”, said the General Secretary.
